Welcome to the TRAN4115 course. In this course, we will address some theoretical and practical aspects of translation technology. This technology is important as it has become an essential aspect of the translation profession. After an overview of the main historical milestones in Machine Translation (MT) and the description of approaches used in different MT generations, we will have a chance to do some hands-on practice with Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT) tools.
