This course is an introduction to engineering heat transfer. The course will cover the basics of heat conduction and convective heat transfer, and some very basic radiative heat transfer. We will study the basics of heat conduction, steady and transient heat conduction, forced convection, natural convection, heat exchangers and radiation heat transfer. The text contains a large number of interesting applications such as heat transfer from human bodies, insulation, heat exchangers, heat dissipation using fins.
