This course is designed to introduce to students the fundamentals of Operations Research (OR); to impart related conceptual and mathematical skills; and to familiarize them with real life situations involving decision-making. The objectives of the course are:

  • To provide to students an understanding of the basic concepts of OR;
  • To involve them with different decision making situations and help them in contemplating optimum solutions under constraints;
  • To gain hands on experience with the process of modelling and apply some basic tools and software for problem solving;
  • To develop within them project management skills using network based techniques and analysis.
