The course provides an introduction to the essential components of management and the study of management.  It is intended to provide a bedrock for both the study and practice of management for students studying programs in the Faculty of Business.  It emphasizes the practical and intellectual dimensions of management alongside the introduction of key concepts such as leadership and business ethics.  In addition, it provides the basis for the study of management through different modes of academic business communication: argumentation via essay writing, report writing, presentations, etc. 

COMP1112-2020S1 Introduction to Computing

This course aims to provide the concepts on computing - computer hardware, software, programming, and the Internet. As such, students shall be able to utilize and transfer introductory skills and knowledge on computing to pursue relevant courses in her/his study.

COMP1109-2020S1 Introduction to  Information Systems

This course aims to introduce students with essential topics relevant to the information systems aiming the following objective to:  understand the term information system and the role it plays in organizations; describe Information and Communications Technologies (ICTs) used in organizations; comprehend databases in an organization; and discuss ways and importance of the digital presence of an enterprise.

BUEC1601-2020S1 Introduction to Microeconomics

This course aims to give students an overview of the microeconomic analysis, including aspects such as how individuals prioritize the needs with limited resources, human behavior in buying and selling, how decisions are made under uncertainty and different market structures.
